  • Good model. I think one thing that isn't addressed is drug habituation as the precipitate to use and abuse of other drugs. Hypothetically, one could become dependent on a substance, and with repeated exposure their tolerance builds, so they no longer feel the positive effects, without a reduction in the negative effects. They could then take a different drug which they're not habituated to, and thus, experience the full positive effects of the novel drug. This could precede cessation of the former substance, for the latter; jumping from wagon to wagon so to speak.
